Overview

Combining my love for music and the web, I designed and developed an interactive website that shares a story about one of my favorite artists.

My roles and responsibilities included Creative Direction, Design, and Front-End Web Development.

This was a capstone project for my Interaction Design II course at UC Davis. I revisited the project in April 2023 to update visual elements, design for a responsive web, and fix bugs (thank you software engineer friend!).

Experience Goals

Grimes’ music, art and love of space inspired the visual design and functionality of the website. I wanted the look and feel to be like that of a spaceship's interface ready for exploration.

To accomplish this, I made the planets a central focal point with surface images that resemble each album cover.

The experience goal was to create a bid for connection. I wanted to curate and package Grimes' music with visual representations that could spark ideas and inspiration for anyone who stumbled across the site.
